The Town of Greenfield, MA
Located in the picturesque northern Pioneer Valley, at the intersection of Interstate 91 and the Mohawk Trail, Greenfield, Massachusetts is home to 18,000 residents. If you’re looking for a balance between quaint, picturesque living and easy access to dining, shopping, and entertainment, you’ll find it in Greenfield.
Although known as the Town of Greenfield, Greenfield adopted city-style government in 2003 with the election of its first mayor. Greenfield operates its own fire, police, and ambulance services, and is home to the Franklin Medical Center, a 93-bed acute care community hospital. Residents of Greenfield can send their children to a number of public schools, as well as distinguished private schools and Greenfield Community College, one of the area’s many institutions of higher education.
Greenfield is home to attractions such as Poet’s Seat Tower, the Greenfield Energy Park, and the Franklin County Fairgrounds. The town’s Main Street features dozens of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options, and seamlessly blends the old and then new with the historic Garden Cinema and 125+ year-old Wilson’s Department Store tucked in between popular music stores, vegetarian restaurants, and jewelers. With ample parking and everything from a weekly farmer’s market to car dealerships, and parks within walking distance of Main Street, Greenfield is easy to navigate by car or on foot.
As a growing city, Greenfield is a wonderful place to purchase property, with a mix of available land, commercial space, and residential homes. Recent investments have also updated historic downtown buildings to house new businesses and loft apartments, and construction of a regional transit center facility is expected to start next year.
Greenfield is a great place to live and work!
