Free Harvest Supper in Greenfield
The Free Harvest Supper is an annual celebration of the harvest and an inclusive community event. It features a free bountiful meal of locally grown food prepared by local chefs, as well as live music, children’s activities, and educational displays.
This year’s supper will be held on Court Square in Greenfield this weekend, on Sunday, August 22 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. While the meal is free, donations are accepted, and proceeds go to the Greenfield Farmers Market Coupon program. Last year’s event raised $3,000, which was used to give low-income families coupons good for produce at the Farmer’s Market. Consequently, $3,000 was distributed among local farmers as well.
The goals of the Free Harvest Supper are to showcase and celebrate the bounty of the local harvest, encourage people to support local farmers by purchasing local produce, and to raise money for the Greenfield Farmers Market.
